Thank you to the many people who responded to the 30-Second Survey on the Herrick website. We received over 200 responses!

Survey responses indicate that many of you are satisfied with the Herrick website and like the way that it is organized. At the same time, we received many good and practical suggestions, including making the site more visually appealing, making it easier to “find things” (especially journals and articles), linking from the catalog to library maps, adding Herrick’s phone number to the homepage, adding a virtual tour of the library, and making improvements to the CD/Movie page.

Some of the more imaginative suggestions included offering massages, providing Google-style corrections (”did you mean…”), providing a place where patrons can review and recommend books, and providing couches (lots of couches…).

We will be taking all of the input into consideration as we make plans to upgrade the site.

To answer some common questions:

• A list of items recently added to the library can be found from the homepage by going to “Find items…”, “Book”, “View a List of Herrick’s New Books”. It’s clear that we need to make the list more visible.
• To renew loans online, see these instructions. Again, we’ll work to make the instructions more readily available.
